OUR SCHOOLS

It all began simply, in the past, right down the road. In one small room. Our children are the future. There is a promise of a bright tomorrow: Lincoln Ackerman School. The tradition of providing the highest level of education was built on two centuries of legacy that began in our historic schoolrooms. Find out more about our historic schools.

OUR RESIDENTS

GENEALOGY

Hampton Falls has been the home to some amazing men and women. From farmers and business leaders, to artists and teachers, the stories of those that build our town and made it home are plentiful. Enjoy the oral histories of over ten of our residents who grew up in Hampton Falls in the early twentieth century. Visit our YouTube Channel to hear their interviews. Memories of Hampton Falls, a full one hour film based on their interviews, is also available for viewing. In the 1970’s, artist Mark Kelley began the trend of community spirit that exists today. Watch Ward Dilmore, Trustee and Kelley family friend, give a fun and informative tribute to Mark Kelley.

Hampton Falls has been home to generations of families since the 1600’s. Their names can be found over town in our roads, ponds, and homes. Stay tuned for a special page to help those looking for resources and history of the families that lived and prospered over the past 300 years, with surnames such as Brown, Batchelder, Prescott, Sanborn, Nason, and more.

OUR MUSEUMS

The Historical Society maintains two Museums containing exhibits, resources, and artifacts from Hampton Falls’ 300 year history. The Museum at 45 Exeter Road was first built as a church in 1835. It was donated to the town as a Library in 1901, then leased to the Historical Society in 2001. Newly renovated, the Museum is home to archival collections and exhibits. Our East School Museum is a historic one-room school house. It was moved in 1985 to behind Town Hall, then it finally came to it’s new home next to the Hampton Falls Free Library. The East School Museum holds school and farming artifacts as well as an extensive Indigenous exhibit. Contact us to make an appointment to see either of these Museums, or plan to attend one of our upcoming events.
